The Berbee Derby is a fun-filled community event that has been running 18 years strong! Our dedicated volunteers work hard year-round to make your entire experience with the Berbee Derby a pleasant one. Whether you are a runner or walker, 10k-er or 5k-er or run as a team  — we have something for everyone.

New This Year — Kids Dash

We’re introducing the Trek sponsored Kids Dash, a free 100-yard race just for kids!

• Ages 2-6
• Starts at 8am
• Untimed
• Separate FREE registration includes an official Berbee Derby bib and finisher medal

Kids ages 4-6 can register for both the Kids Dash AND the Berbee Derby 5K/10K for only $5!

Other Fun Kids Events — Gobbler Pavilion

Family-fun pre-race activities!

Put on your party best, and come celebrate with us! Join us once again this year at our Singlewire Kids Gobbler Pavilion prior to the race, from 7:15am-9:15am.

• Custom Berbee Derby tattoos
• Cute photo opportunities at painted stand-ins
• A fun kids’ warm-up with our turkey mascot
• All under a heated tent!

We also have special pricing for kids to run.

• If your little one is 3 years old or under (and will be in a stroller or wagon), they can run/walk for free. You don’t need to register them, but note they won’t get a t-shirt or goodie bag.
• If your kids are between the ages of 4-6 years old they run the Berbee Derby 5K for only $5. Yes, they need to run with an adult but they’ll get the awesome t-shirt and goodie bag.

It’s all for a great cause too! 100% of race proceeds stay in the community to benefit the Technology Education Foundation and closing the technology gap in Dane County.
