This week Tri 4 Schools would like to highlight and celebrate an organization that plays a very big role in our Waunakee Triathlon this year. Because of the Village Center of Waunakee’s generosity Tri 4 Schools has a location to host their event for the athletes to participate. The Village Center of Waunakee is filled with individuals who are dedicated to help in the community, including Sue McDade who answered all of our questions about the center.

The Village Center of Waunakee was opened in the spring of 2006 that serves the community through a 45,000 square foot facility. The facility houses offices, a fitness center, walking track, full-sized gymnasium, fitness studio, and community rooms for all events or activities. Their space and programming can be used by all members of the community regardless of age, interest, or ability. Last year in 2012, they served nearly 200,000 people for one purpose or another. So it is no wonder that the Village Center has been known by the citizens of their community as “their place for activity”.

Because youth sports and fitness is a huge part of the Village Center, they were excited to partner with Tri 4 Schools. Sue McDade says that “it’s an awesome event that is fun, healthy, and supports our community,” and “watching those…kids try their best…is…one of those moments that reminds me why I chose this profession!”

If you are looking for a place to get involved in recreational programming like gymnastics, youth basket ball, or art classes, or a place for birthdays parties, anniversaries, wedding receptions, or need to know where to go for public meetings and general elections, then the Village Center of Waunakee is your place to go!
