There are tons of ways to get moving in Waunakee this summer! Here are our top three picks for affordable and active family fun.
We started working with the Waunakee Village Center in 2012, and coming up on our sixth year, it’s still one of our most favorite partnerships. The leadership and staff are not only high quality, but they’re generous, motivated, friendly, and innovative. They always work hard to make events successful because they want the best for the community, residents and visitors to Waunakee alike.
Our kids triathlon is just one of many great ways the Village Center works to offer fun, healthy, and creative programming for children. Why not check out one of these awesome programs for your family this summer? All this and more can be found in their 2017 Spring/Summer Newsletter.
Big Rig Event
When: Sunday, June 4th 11am-2pm
Cost: FREE
Fire Engines … Dump Trucks … Skid Steers … Tractors … Med Flight! Do your kids get excited when they see a big dump truck rumbling by or the flashing lights of a police car? Put your imagination in gear, grab your Bob the Builder hat and head on down to this awesome event on June 4, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Ripp Park. Kids of all ages can climb on, explore and get up close with their favorite big rigs including a skid steer, snow plow, tractor, Med Flight fire engine, dump truck, police car, construction vehicles and much more! Parents, bring your cameras. If your kids are anything like mine, you’ll have a hard time getting them OUT of the machines. 🙂
Chalk Walk
When: Wednesday, August 16, 2017
Cost: Pre-registration is required for the color walk, opens in June
This is an afternoon full of colorful fun. Join in as an artist and create your art on a square of the sidewalk (chalk is provided)! Not an artist, but still want to get involved? Register for the color walk, a one mile walk where you’ll get to view all the creations and get showered with technicolor powder. After the sun sets, a movie night will be hosted at 7:45pm in Village Park. This sounds like a slam dunk for families hoping for some active outdoor family fun this summer.
Live Outdoor Music

One of the best things about summer is catching outdoor music. Waunakee has different options on both Tuesday and Thursday nights:
