What a great day to celebrate eight years in Middleton!

Over 600 kids came out on Saturday to meet the challenge of completing a triathlon, and we were so honored to be a part of that experience.

This day was even more historic, as we surpassed $300,000 in funds donated back to local schools since our inception in 2011.  We’ve come a long way since our first race in Middleton in 2011, and we have YOU all to thank for it.

Check out our video from the day – we saw lots of smiling faces on both participants AND volunteers!

Thanks to all the parents who have reached out to us to share pictures and memories from the day.  Here’s one from a parent of a first-timer:

“Our daughter can’t stop talking about the triathlon.  She keeps saying she wants to do one every day! I wish we would have signed them up for all of them!”  ~ Andrea, proud mom of TWO triathletes

Hattie, age 4, who now wants to do “infinity triaflons” just like her big brother, Nolan.

We’re so thankful for stories like this that show that all kids can succeed and enjoy this sport, and we’re incredibly grateful to our sponsors and volunteers who help make this event a special and memorable experience for every athlete.  A special thanks to Harbor Athletic Club, who, as our presenting sponsor, hosted a packet pick-up on Friday night where almost 250 kids showed up to learn all about the race day experience!

Fittest School and Funds Raised

Each race, we tally up the number of athletes from each participating school to help us divide out our race entry fees ($15,960 from this race). Here’s how it shook out this year for our top five schools:

  1. Elm Lawn Elementary, Middleton – 52 athletes!  They’ll keep our Fittest School trophy to add to their collection…for the FOURTH year in a row!

  2. Van Hise Elementary, Madison – 45 kids
  3. Northside Elementary, Middleton – 40 kids
  4. Sunset Ridge Elementary, Middleton – 39 kids
  5. Kromrey Middle, Middleton – 34 kids
