We’ve been incredibly blessed with great interns each year, and this summer, we’re welcoming our first high school student! Meet Sydney, and expect to see her around our Middleton tri AND mud run.
Hello, my name is Sydney Walter and I’m a new intern for Tri 4 Schools this summer! This fall I will be senior at Madison East High School and am excited to start the college application process. I was born and raised here in Madison, but I’m ready to put a little space between home and my college career. With the occasional free time I enjoy traveling, hanging out with friends or family, and spending time outside.
I have always wanted to help; whether it was people who can’t speak for themselves, who are in need of a home, food, or shelter, or who simply need to make their voices heard. Again and again I find myself holding the position in a club or activity of “Volunteer Coordinator” and with that title I see the potential to show more people the ways they can provide the helping hand that someone needs. I am a believer in having everyone’s voice being heard and throughout the organizations I find myself helping with, I fall in love with their ability to help in ways I didn’t think were possible. Tri 4 Schools provides every child with the ability to bring out their inner champion and I’m proud to be a part of it.
I look forward to working with Katie, and although I started the week of the Sun Prairie tri, the chaos has been a great introduction. Diving right in has provided me with more insight in how volunteers or parents see race day, given they don’t have too much of an outline to the details before the couple days leading up to the event. Here’s to the rest of the summer with a little less chaos, and irreplaceable experiences with Tri 4 Schools!
