Last week you met our new Events Coordinator. Now we’d like you to meet the other half of our new dynamic duo, Melissa! As our Program Coordinator, she will help Exercise to Achievement continue to grow, and we’re confident you’ll want to become her best friend, too.
Hello Tri 4 Schools community! My name is Melissa Lindemann and I am the new Program Coordinator for Exercise to Achievement. I am honored to be joining the Tri 4 Schools team! My husband, Phil, and I are both Wisconsin natives and met at the UW School of Business. We fell in love with Madison and decided to stay. We now have two daughters, Nadia and Ida, and are very happy to be raising our family here. We can often be found at one of the many parks, libraries, or bike paths near our home. While I have spent the last few years home with my daughters, I have over seven years of project management experience and can’t wait to jump right in and get to work with the schools participating in Exercise to Achievement this spring.
One of my favorite ways to spend my free time is doing yoga. After years as a runner, most of my workouts now take place on my mat. You might still see me at one of the many fun runs around town though! I also love to travel and explore new places, try as many new restaurants as I possibly can, and read the latest new novel. Do beware if you visit me at home, it’s very likely you will be invited to put on a costume and participate in a spur of the moment dance show – it’s one of our favorite family activities!
My first involvement in Tri 4 Schools was as a volunteer at the Middleton Kids Triathlon. I was stationed on the bike course and smiled every minute of that race. I remember being inspired by so many kids completing their first triathlons that day at such a young age. I came home eager to become more involved and since then have been a Mud Run volunteer and have also helped Katie on some administrative work behind the scenes.
Leading a healthy lifestyle is important to me. This is one of the reasons I am so thrilled to be working with Tri 4 Schools and Exercise to Achievement. It’s exciting to work on something you are passionate about! I am eager to build relationships with school staff and parents who share my vision of keeping kids active and healthy through fun and positive experiences. I look forward to growing the Exercise to Achievement program and to continue to cheer on hordes of beaming kids as they complete their first triathlon!
