We’re so proud to have the support of one of our community’s most dedicated and reputable fitness facilities, Harbor Athletic Club, in our corner.  Ever since our first event in 2011 they have supported us through goody bag giveaways, promotions, and even donating a portion of their Tri 101 class to us.  Now they are a GOLD sponsor of our  Middleton triathlon, and we’re honored they choose to align their solid reputation with our great cause.

KH: Tell us a little bit about the history of Harbor.

Melissa E., Co-Owner and Marketing Director: Thirty years ago we created our mission statement to “serve our community and our members…knowing that fitness is a lifelong pursuit.”  We still honor that mission today.
We truly believe Harbor Athletic Club is a club for all reasons. Whether your reason is to increase your fitness level, learn to relax by taking yoga, feel recharged in group exercise classes, or just want to stretch your muscles in the warm water pool, you can find it at Harbor.

Walk through our club, and you’ll see people of all ages and abilities using our pools, playing basketball, participating in our wide variety of classes, or using our state-of-the-art exercise equipment.  We are truly a 3-generational full service health club with members who are young or young at heart.

KH: What are your main programs for kids and adults?

ME: We have a large swim program, ranging from our Harbor Swim School and Aquatics Classes to masters swim and triathlon classes.  We have four pools on site, so there are lots of ways to incorporate aquatics into your fitness routine.

We also focus on family fitness with our Pre/Post Natal Fitness, Youth Fitness, Kids Club & Birthday Parties.  If classes are your preference, we offer Les Mills classes, Cycling, Bootcamps, Step, Sculpt and more.

For the true sport-based athlete, we offer Racquetball, Basketball, Soccer, Endurance, Running, Cycling & More.

Our Harbor Wellness Studios offer Yoga, HOT Yoga, Barre, Reformer, Pilates, tai chi & more, and we also have a variety of Personal & Small Group Personal Training options.

KH: What are your business goals and philosophy, and what are you most proud of?

ME: We are proud to be a local and family owned business. We strive not only to serve our members but also the community we are a part of.  We want our members to enjoy fitness and staying healthy in all stages of their life. It humbles us to see some of our long term members celebrate their birthday by taking a water aerobics class followed by party in the lobby with other members. In the same way it is awesome to see moms and dads with their children at Harbor, teaching them that staying active is fun and healthy at a young age.

KH: Why did you partner with Tri 4 Schools?

ME: Tri 4 Schools seems like a natural partnership for Harbor. We have always supported the event but we are excited to be a sponsor this year. We have a youth tri program that has been growing over the past couple years along with many other youth programs.  There is nothing more important then mentoring the youth and helping motivate them to be active. Beyond health benefits there are so many life lessons and mental benefits to fitness and sports.
