Thank you to everyone who made a gift to support us on Giving Tuesday! You helped us surpass our goals to meet our monthly donor challenge AND ensure that we’ll be able to continue our efforts to keep kids healthy in our schools.
First, give yourselves a round of applause! You are AMAZING. The neatest thing about Giving Tuesday is that we are a part of something bigger…much bigger. Thousands of non-profits around the world were all participating in this movement together, with donors responding to the cause by showing what they care about. I saw countless posts and tweets about making donations, sharing why they support various causes, and donors even putting out their own challenges to increase donations.

It’s a great reminder that we are all part of a community, a community that relies on everyone doing their part to make each other’s lives a little better. It may sound cliché, but the phrases “It takes a village” and “I get by with a little help from my friends” have never been truer to me since starting a non-profit organization, but also as a parent. I’ve come to realize that we all need each other, and when we give to charities, we’re responding to needs of people we know, and people we might never meet, but it’s all incredibly needed and valued.
Now, as promised, we wanted to reveal our new logo and tagline, as well as our new event for 2016. We announced this yesterday on our Facebook page, but without further ado…
