Greetings blogosphere!

Sorry I missed last week’s post, I was in California with my family visiting my sister and some very good friends.  Don’t worry, just because I was on vacation doesn’t mean I was a slacker though.  Our first stop was Vacaville, about an hour north of San Francisco, where I got a 10 mile run in so I can keep up training for the Men’s Health Urbanathlon in Chicago on the 13th!  We also made sure to walk every day, a feat which made my daughter exhausted:

We also visisted Monterey, which boasts a fair amount of coastline and great biking trails.  My husband and I went running both days and we visisted Carmel by the Sea and went to the beach.  The beach doesn’t seem like a workout at first, but after hiking up the steep hill from the water back to the car, my calves were burning and I was pretty sweaty!  I’d recommend checking out Point Lobos if you’re interested in some hiking – it’s beautiful but not too challenging.  Finally, we drove the famous 17 Mile Drive which circles Pebble Beach, but there were plenty of people biking it as well…a sight not to be missed!
