Six weeks… the big dance is almost here! I feel so blessed to be healthy and confident at this point in my training. Thank you, thank you, thank you all for your support over the past several months; your financial contributions and encouraging words mean the world.

We’re entering the “peak” phase of training now. That means 20-plus hours of workouts per week, 100-plus mile bike rides, three hour runs, and SO much food! I’ve never been hungrier in my life. The training is challenging, but I’m confident in my plan and in my body’s ability to keep up. Mid-August, training will slow down again for a long taper, or rest period, before the big day. It’s tough, but we’re almost there!

The Summer Shindig a few weeks ago was a great reminder of why we’re taking on this challenge. It was inspiring to hear about the impact Tri 4 Schools has had on the community over the past four years, and to learn about what’s coming! This is a well-run organization with an amazing mission that is truly impacting children across Dane county. When I’m tired after a long day of training, I feel grateful that my efforts are going to help this organization reach even more kids.

Thank you to all of you who’ve taken the time to chat with me about this process; I’ve been encouraged by your words and experience. Thanks also to those of you who have given financially – this funding will make a big impact toward expanding Tri 4 Schools’ mission! If you haven’t had a chance to do so yet, or want to share the opportunity with others, you can do so here: https://www.crowdrise.com/IronmanforTri4Schools

Thanks again!
